Orwellian

...

After a week of protest and an almost coup attempt of what they termed as a Genz revolution, my Mom asked me "Gen Z you've stopped the revolution " I gazed at her feeling confused "Why". She was watching a news story as the president was in Nakuru where most of his audience were youths who were blissfully responding to his manifesto. "I thought you guys were having a revolution," she said. I felt so embarrassed and betrayed by those youths. We are trying to remove corrupt leaders from power yet they are glorifying them. Weeks later she asked again "I am no longer seeing Gen Z on the streets, was all this a fluke ". I responded "Have you been on Twitter " She replied "Here take my phone " I swiftly gave out my phone showing her all Twitter trends on that day "What in the world am I seeing, why aren't they airing this?" she asked in disbelief. She saw young boys and girls being murdered and brutally beaten by police officers.
George Orwell who was a remarkable and profound author, I loved most of his books and ideology about fascism and common descent. He once wrote, "Early in life he noticed that no event was ever correctly reported in newspapers, but in Spain, for the first time, he saw newspaper reports which did not bear any relation to the facts, not even relationship which is implied in an ordinary lie".
It be came evident that our Royal Media service was state-owned  they broadcasted a facade of normalcy fabricating and concealing the grim of reality as the youths were being killed like dogs on the streets.
Orwell goes ahead and says "I saw great battles reported where there had been no fighting and complete silence where hundreds of men had been killed ". When nightfall kicked in gunshots were heard and what turned out to be a peaceful protest became a massacre but where were the bodies? They dumped in a quarry site "How many" The media did say a very mediocre figure as opposed to what people were seeing on Twitter where they had no control. There is no belief in an objective truth, where truth solely exists in our mind which is easily manipulated.
Orwell tries to show and warn the world about totalitarianism and unjust as seen in his publication "Animal Farm".The media that once a bastion of truth now spun a web of deception obscuring the brutality unfolding before our eyes.
